Review Policy

Thank you for considering me to review your book!

UPDATE: 5 JUN 2021 – I am not currently accepting new review requests at this time until I clear my back log.

Please note that writing reviews is not my full time job, I am active duty military, and a parent so I might be slow in finishing reading your book if it is over 300 pages but I can generally finish a 160 page novella in 4-6 hours.

I provide a spoiler free synopsis with my thoughts which can range from 300-1000 words depending on my mood. Please see my published reviews to get a feel for my writing style.

I reserve the right of refusal at any time. But I will tell you directly if I can or cannot read your book.

Review posting order.

I try to review books in the order I receive them but I will adjust according to release dates if it is an ARC.

File types I can recieve.

I can receive ebooks in PDF, mobi and epub. I have Netgallery and BookSirens accounts. Please contact me for my mailing address but I currently live in Hawaii- so things mailed through MediaMail may take longer to reach me.

Genres I read.

Yes. I read just about everything – textbooks are technical in nature and are not my forte. I can tackle current events and political books but I will approach it as objectively as I can… with additional research.

Where reviews will be published.

I publish reviews here on my blog, Goodreads and Amazon. But I can cross promote on my TwitterFacebookand Instagram accounts.

How my reviews are rated:

I follow the standard 1 – 5 star rating system of Amazon and Goodreads for consistency. Please see my BookSirens’ demographics for a better feel of how I review.

Roughly these are what the ratings mean to me:

  1. I did not finish this book and you can’t make me.
  2. I forced myself to finish this.
  3. This book had some rough parts but it’s okay.
  4. I liked this book but I have some feelings.
  5. I loved this book and it’s perfect.

Things I consider:

  • Target Audience – even if it’s not my cup of tea, would the audience like it?
  • Was this fun to read?
  • Was I able to suspend disbelief?
  • Was this easy to read/understand?
  • Would I want to read this again?

.As an author myself, I understand that author feedback is great and reviews are meant for readers. If I read your book and feel it is below a 3, I will message you privately with my feedback. My intention is to provide an honest review and not hurt anyone.
